Inspired by a friend's photo-a-day project. (Not that I need a reason for photographing whatever strikes my fancy.) Also, an invitation to more often observe and consider what unfolds daily.
The decor in this hamburger place struck me as strange (not even considering poinsettia garland on the mantel). The overly ornate frame and rustic tile gave me the impression that this used to be something a bit fancier, though I know this place has been there for about five years.
The surface of an outdoor air conditioner on the patio of a restaurant. We sat inside, but I thought this was interesting. It looks like the inside of my humidifier.
When I saw these clothes I had to wonder if someone wasn't skinny dipping in the creek. Not that you could blame them - I think today was day 24 of triple-digit temperatures.
Since we're still trying to figure out where certain things go after the move, I have been putting my watch in a small stainless bowl at the end of the day. Until photographing it, I hadn't really noticed how well the surface creates reflections.
The new place looks like it's made of pale red bricks until you get closer and you can see it has many colors. The texture makes me think worms crawled through the bricks as they were being made.
I had to move the basil to a larger pot. It's way too hot for anything to be in a small one. In fact, it has been too hot to be outside very long at all.
Finally got to see how "bulky trash pickup" day works. It's like the claw game at arcades where you try to capture the stuffed animal, except this one's big enough to pick up a small car, and they quickly get the prize.
The water in Cozumel is an incredible turquoise that photos won't do justice to. This is the view from the ship while docked. Today were were able to enjoy a morning on the beach before it rained.
It's all kinds of wrong to park in the passing lane, especially when towing a slow-moving vehicle and there's no one ahead of you for a mile. Sadly, the driver didn't seem to realize any of this.
