Inspired by a friend's photo-a-day project. (Not that I need a reason for photographing whatever strikes my fancy.) Also, an invitation to more often observe and consider what unfolds daily.
It really poured in the wee hours of the night. Almost everything outside was still soaking wet late into the afternoon. I'm not even sure where this oak leaf came from.
Michael had his face painted to match his shirt at the State Fair. I'm anxiously waiting to see how much of the shapes remain when the sunburn fades. He doesn't find that as amusing as I do.
This intersection near home is always full of birds lately, looking like beads on the wires and covering nearly every other surface. I always wonder how they pick these gathering spots.
In the office building where the eye doctor is, there's a staircase that always has strange plantings. These look like something you'd see at the aquarium.
While sitting and just watching the day end, I noticed these tiny sprigs of green in a spot with no grass. I wonder whether it's baby grass or another type altogether.
The cooler temperatures and the rain have made wearing boots seem like a reasonable thing to do. A few weeks ago that wouldn't have seemed likely to be any time soon.
I'm impressed by how much these solar powered lights help, even on a mostly cloudy day (though they stay lit much later into the night when the day was sunny).
